Founded in 2018, Franklin County Interfaith Council came together to address social issues in our area from a faith-based standpoint. Our mission is to promote interfaith dialog, worship, and social action through the unity of God's people. We seek to share our commonality and explore our spiritual diversity.
We believe in restoring hope to those in our community who feel hopeless through our various programs. FCIC can also assist in connecting anyone with spiritual guidance, support or prayer.
Throughout the year, Franklin County Interfaith Council assists in filling seasonal, individual and personal needs that arise in the community. FCIC has hosted toy drives, blanket drives, holiday meals and blood drives. We provide student extended break food boxes, warm meals, disaster relief supplies to WNC, period packs to schools, hygiene kits and more.
Our advocacy includes civic involvement, participation in community events, interfaith gatherings, even filmmaking. Our documentary production, Gimme Shelter, created to bring awareness to local homelessness, has been shown at several film festivals and received critical acclaim.
We provide classes, free of charge, on topics such as education, emotional resilience, and finding a better job. English language classes are also available.
FCIC supports six food pantries across Franklin County in their efforts to feed the food insecure.
Whether seeking temporary or transitional housing, FCIC supports White Flag and Safe Space Shelters in Louisburg, Franklinton and surrounding communities in Franklin County.
Franklin County Interfaith Council helps individuals receive health assistance at minimal cost, through Advance Healthcare and other partners.
